Jason A. Ellis, is the founder and Executive Director of MC Inc., bringing together his passion for the arts and youth leadership development. His involvement in the arts dates back over 40 decades. Over those years he has established himself as a performer, administrator, judge, and instructor. He is a recognized playwright, having written, directed, choreographed, and produced several original musicals. He also serves on boards, committees and workgroups focused on the arts. He has been involved in youth services for over 20 years including the creation of a youth leadership development program which was the genesis of the nonprofit today.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Politics, a master’s degree in Public Administration, a post master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Administration and is currently pursuing an Ed.D degree at George Washington University in Educational Leadership and Administration. He has been involved in the public sector for over 25 years, including government, nonprofit, education, and church. He has over 13 years experience specifically in the affordable housing space, and over 20 years experience in program design, implementation, management, and evaluation.

A native of Kingston, Jamaica he has been a fixture in the Alexandria community since 2009. He is a 2018 Alexandria Living Legend recipient for his work as a social-commentary playwright and an Alexandria Chamber of Commerce 40-under-40 awardee.
