Tamieka J. Jones, is a Human Resources professional with over 25 years of experience, specializing in talent acquisition and recruiting leadership and development.  A native of Harvest, AL, Tamieka has cultivated and refined her recruiting skills, while working for organizations spanning across the commercial and defense integration and services industries.  After receiving her B.S. degree in Marketing from Alabama A&M University, she launched her career delivering recruiting services for Aerotek/Allegis Companies, one of the top staffing firms in the country.

After eight successful years in the staff augmentation industry, Tamieka transitioned to a corporate environment lending her expertise to Northrop Grumman, where she was promoted to a management role within the first nine months of her employment.  At Northrop Grumman she honed her ability to identify and acquire highly sought-after talent, helping to staff and grow programs in the US and abroad.  Her leadership and knowledge of talent acquisition led to multiple promotions and opportunities to work with various business areas within the organization.  After six years, she ended her tenure with Northrop Grumman and joined BAE Systems Inc., which allowed her to expand her leadership skills and knowledge of electronic systems and land and armament platform solution development.

Tamieka has always had a heart to serve.  It is this desire that led her to transition her career to the non-profit industry.  In 2016, Tamieka joined AARP as the Director of Talent Acquisition, coupling her love for recruiting and service to the community.   With AARP she leads a team in recruiting a highly skilled workforce to grow advocacy and awareness around issues that impact our aging population.  Within her first year with AARP, she was able to help transform the talent acquisition department, restore trust in the function amongst business leaders and hiring teams, and re-brand the organization as a prominently desired career destination.

In addition to her successful career in talent acquisition, Tamieka has expanded her talents to the performing arts.  In exploring her passions in this domain, Tamieka has been afforded opportunities to lend her vocal and dramatic talents to audiences at the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts on multiple occasions, venues in New York, in a web series, and other local productions in the DC metro area.  Tamieka is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
